EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) A former Michigan State University football player is banned from campus because he violated the school's Relationship Violence and Sexual Misconduct policy.

MSU's Division of Student Affairs and Services made that finding and banned Keith Mumphery in June of last year following a rape investigation. A woman claimed Mumphery assaulted her in her dorm room in March of 2015.

The Ingham County Prosecutor's Office decided not to file charges, saying the accusation could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Mumphery was a wide receiver for the Spartans from 2011 through 2014. He was chosen by the Houston Texans in the 2015 NFL draft and played for the team for the last two seasons.

According to the police report, he said the sexual contact was consensual. Mumphery was expelled from MSU and is not allowed on campus until 2019.
