(WILX) - The state of Florida is experiencing a tomato shortage that is being blamed on Hurricane Irma.
Some restaurants have even taken tomatoes off their menu.
Shipments of Florida tomatoes were down by more than 65 percent during the week of December 3rd through 9th compared to that same week in 2016.
Tomato shipments dropped 25 percent across the United States during that same week.
Some shoppers have noticed the increase in the price of tomatoes.
"It is noticeable. I have children. I buy a lot of groceries", said Jessica Garcia.
