EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -- Former MSU Spartan and current Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green was arrested in East Lansing early Sunday morning for Assault and Battery / Simple Assault.
The arrest took place around 2:28 A.M.
The police report states that green allegedly punched Michigan State Football player, Jermaine Edmondson, early Sunday morning outside of Conrad's.
The records show that this may not have been the first incident between the two. Edmondson Says he told Green to watch where he was going after Green bumped into him in East Lansing Friday night.
Edmondson says he noticed Green at Conrad's Saturday, and tried to talk to him about the prior incident. That's when things escalated and Green slapped him in the face.
The Golden State Warriors released the following statement regarding the situation: "We are aware of news involving Draymond Green in Michigan over the weekend. At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation."
Green was released from jail after posting bond on Sunday, and he waived his arraignment Tuesday which means he does not have to be present for his pretrial hearing on August 4th.
