A Cheboygan, Michigan man traveled to Pyeongchang to coach a cross-country skier and took his handmade, specialty ski poles with him.

Andy Liebner and his father, roger, have been hard at work making hundreds of carbon fiber ski poles for some of the sport's premier athletes.

Each part of the pole is made locally in Cheboygan from the actual carbon fiber shafts to the plastic tips, and the molds and webbing on the straps.

The poles will be used by Mexican cross country skiier German Madrazo as well as team Iceland.
