UPDATE: Police are looking for suspects in Family Dollar crash

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A car slammed into a Family Dollar store on Saturday, August 4, in Lansing.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. at the store located off West Holmes Road near MLK Boulevard.

Surveillance video shows the suspect driving fast and recklessly before striking the Family Dollar, just missing shoppers.

The car caught fire, which also started a fire inside the store. Both were put out quickly.

The male driver exits the building in distress. He's seen wearing black shorts and a black shirt. Police report that he is seen staggering towards the rear of the parking lot before being approached by a woman in pink and then leaving the scene.

The woman goes into the store after speaking to the suspect.

Lansing police said they are not sure why the car went off the road and hit the building and have not been able to locate the man or the woman from the scene.

There were many shoppers and cars coming and going during the incident and no one was hurt in the crash.
