The Boy Scouts of America are announcing it will start admitting girls into its program. This will be starting in 2018.
News 10's Marcus Dash spoke to local boys and girls scout leaders and found that they have very different opinions on the matter. Communication specialist for the Girl scouts of Michigan Nalee Xiong does not think it will hinder their participation, but thinks they are better suited to be leading girls.
On the other hand Scout Master Joel Wilkins says girls have been working with the boy scouts for a while, and this just makes it official.
