Big art honor for a legally blind 3rd grader

Ava tabbert, is a 3rd grader at Longfellow Elementary in Eau Claire, Wisconsin,, and art is her favorite subject, but her art is experienced through touch.
Ava was diagnosed with Liebers Congenital Amerosis at 3 months old, making her legally blind.
But with the help of the school, she's given the tools to succeed, and create art that has received national recognition.
Last weekend, Ava and her family traveled to Louisville, Kentucky for the American Printing House for the Blind's "Insights Art Contest" where she received 2nd place for her piece called "Giraffe."
