Animal shelter in desperate need of dog houses ahead of winter season

MASON, Mich. (WILX) - Ingham County Animal Control wants to be sure your pets have shelter for the upcoming winter.

Animal Control is asking the public for dog house donations for Ingham County pet owners in need.

They'll accept brand new, used or houses you've even made yourself that aren’t being used anymore.

For our four legged friends, something as simple as a house and a little straw at the bottom goes a long way.

"The problem is this year we have very few to give away,” said John Dinon, Ingham County animal control director. “So we're asking the public if you have a dog house that you aren't using anymore, if you have some money you want to donate to help us buy dog houses, please donate we are in desperate need right now."

Donations can be accepted at the shelter during business hours in mason.

The shelter also tells News 10 they're running low on cat food too.
