HAMLIN TOWNSHIP., Mich. (WILX) - A 14-year-old boy went missing and drown at a private property pond in Hamlin Township, according to the Eaton County Sheriff's Office.

A family member told officials that they say 14-year-old Keagon Rouser enter into the pond from the far side trying to swim across it. She said she saw Keagon go under the water near the middle of the pond, and she did not see him come back up.

The witness and other family members went into the pond trying to find him, but could not. They called 911 for help.

Multiple agencies from Eaton County, and Michigan State Police responded to the report around 8:37 p.m. Thursday night.

The Capitol Area Dive Team assisted in the search. The pond was filled with high density weeds and had poor water visibility.

Keagon was found, deceased, after 3 hours. Police say Keagon was from North Carolina and was in Michigan visiting family members.
