Cryss Walker joined News 10 in January 2018.
Cryss Walker has a colorful background, starting off as a radio personality with over a decade of experience in the broadcasting industry.
She started her career as a high school reporter for both the Detroit Free Press and Detroit’s powerhouse station, FM-98 WJLB.
From there she made her way through the hallways of CW50-TV, NPR’s WDET 101.9 FM, 1320 WILS, WDIV -TV, and AM 1200 WCHB.
While at WCHB, Walker was the Executive Producer of the long-running news-talk show, Inside Detroit with Mildred Gaddis, covering local politics under the Kilpatrick Administration, leading up to Detroit’s historic Chapter 9 Bankruptcy.
In addition to local programming, Walker has an extensive background in producing syndicated radio programs.
She served as the Detroit market producer for The Wendy Williams Show Radio Show, Russ Parr Morning Show, Tom Joyner Morning Show, Rickey Smiley in the Morning, Yolonda Adams Morning Show, Michael Baisden in the afternoons as well as The Willie Moore Jr. Show.
Aside from producing, Walker has held positions behind the microphone. She hosted the Ms.Cryss Show on HOT 102.7 FM, HOT 107.5 FM and Power 96.5 FM in both Detroit and Lansing, Michigan.
In her journalistic journey, in both 2014 and 2015, Walker was nominated as one of Detroit’s Favorite Female Media Personalities, trumping over some of the city’s most notable journalist in the annual March Madness contest.
She began her career as a television news reporter in 2015 where she covered local and state headlines throughout Mid-Michigan.
She is also a professional voice-over artist represented by Go Voices talent management group.
Walker is a proud graduate of Cass Technical High School and Wayne State University, with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.
