From our nation’s capitol to Michigan’s state capitol, Marcus Dash brings his enthusiasm for reporting news and sports as he joins WILX in September 2017.
Marcus, was born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia, a suburb outside of Washington, D.C. The youngest of five brothers, Marcus had no alternative but to love sports. He played football all through high school and even earned a scholarship to Alderson-Broaddus University in West Virginia. Unfortunately, an injury ended his playing career and scholarship as well. It was then that he decided to transfer to Barry University in Miami, Florida where he would pursue a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
While at Barry, he reported for the university and launched a radio sports talk show. During his junior year, he interned at NBC4 in Washington, D.C., working in both the news and sports departments. He feels honored to have met and spent time at NBC with broadcast legend Jim Vance. During his senior year, he assisted on shoots with Fox Sports Sun in Miami. Marcus has produced several documentaries, one of which earned him ‘Outstanding Broadcast Senior 2017’. He graduated Cum Laude from Barry University.
In his spare time, Marcus likes working out at the gym; he also enjoys playing/watching tennis, basketball and football.
