A good column today by Graham Couch from the Kalamazoo Gazette. He looks past the whole VCU vs. Jay Bilas* flap and tries to get to the real issue-- choosing teams for the NCAA tournament. Because VCU got in was the selection committee right-- or did they still get it wrong? They got it wrong. Too many major conference teams that didn't have the resume to get in, kept out other deserving mid-majors like Wichita St and the teams Bilas was so vehement should've gotten in anyway. It's a good quick read.
*Jay Bilas was poisonous in his tirade against the committee letting in VCU on selection Sunday. What did Bilas do last night? Did he stoicly bow his head and proclaim his mistake and praise the committee for letting VCU in? No. He hinted that VCU won't get it done in the Final Four in a veiled pick of Butler knocking them off. And I didn't think he could look more like a jackass than he already did over this thing. By the way, Jay, Shaka Smart should be thanking you once again for more motivation to shock the world.
