When I posted my take about Miss California's response to a question in the Miss USA* pageant a couple weeks ago, I got hits and comments from around the country. I really thought that would be the end. Beauty queen has a spat with an actual queen, there is some fallout on the morning news shows, and then it's over.
It's not even close to over.
So my boss doesn't have a coronary, I will say immediately I'm not getting into the recent semi-nude photos that have surfaced of Carrie Prejean AKA Miss California and the new unofficial spokesperson of traditional values. And by "traditional values" I mean, marriage between a man and a woman. The nude photos may end her association with the conservative groups who sought her out after this flap, but who would have thought the photos would be the least embarrassing moment of this thing for her?
As a quick aside, I still firmly believe in my original take: she was asked a question, gave an honest answer, good for her, and Perez Hilton (the judge who asked the question) is a jackass for calling her names because he didn't like the answer.
But now we may know where Miss Prejean's views on homosexuality come from. Check this out and remember two things:
1. It's California.
2. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
