I really don't know why I waste my time or energy on people like Perez Hilton. Are you familiar with this-- stop. I was going to use some snarky label to insult him there, but I'm not going to do what this-- I almost did it again-- what this guy does. For those of you who don't know Perez Hilton he is the celebrity news voice on the Ryan Seacrest radio program that airs every weekday across America including 97.5 in Lansing. He also is on TV, but had no idea what he looked like until doing this blog. He looks like a cross between Fred Gwynn (The Munsters, My Cousin Vinny) and David Johanssen (AKA Buster Poindexter). He is basically a catty commentator who rips on Britney or Lindsey or Paris or whomever is in the news. When his little acts come on the radio I have to turn it if my kids are in the car because of the language he uses or else I'd be explaining things all the way to the park. That's the initial reason for my disdain for this person who might actually be (God help us) part of the media.
Someone thought it would be a good idea to make ol' Perez a judge of this year's Miss USA pageant that just aired. I wake up today to see the big moment of the show was his question to Miss California here:
I saw this and had no problem with any of it. It wasn't the best answer in terms of pleasing everyone, which is what a Miss USA candidate needs to do, but she was asked a question and she answered it to what she believed. An American speaking their mind-- just what we need more of, right? Not according to Mr. Hilton, who if you noticed his reaction to the question at the end there was obviously miffed. Shortly after the pageant he video blogged about the question and unleashes his displeasure by calling Miss California a "dumb b*#%h with half a brain." I'd post the video, but he also uses another curse when he says if she'd won he would've run up on stage. Here is the link though if you want to see it. Hilton goes on to give the answer he thinks she should have given and rant and rave about how this girl had no business being 1st runner-up. "She alienated half the audience and Miss USA should be a uniter." What crap. Let's be honest, Perez, you're only upset because you're gay. She wasn't gay bashing, she just doesn't believe in gay marriage. How does that make her evil? On top of that, Mr. I-care-about-the-pageant-so-much, you couldn't even remember who won the thing in your blog 45 minutes after the show-- AND YOU WERE A JUDGE!
Seriously, this dude needs to go away and fast before he starts, dare I think it, inspiring today's youth. Also, in his rant, Hilton claimed Miss California's answer was the worst in pageant history. I think this next piece of video roundly rejects that thinking, albeit from the Junior Miss USA pageant.
