Joaquin the Line

A recent Late Show appearance should end all the rumors about Joaquin Phoenix's new hip/hop career.

You know, I never bought the idea that Joaquin Phoenix (Gladiator, Walk the Line) was retiring from acting to begin a career in rap music.  Of course, I gave it about as much thought as I do when deciding which shoes to wear.  But, his appearance did lend some credence to the fact he was a little off.  In case you haven't seen him, he looks like this--

I've heard he's denying his whole retirement thing being a hoax, which again, I gave no thought to.  But after watching his Letterman interview the other night, I'm convinced-- it's a hoax for some Borat-style documentary-- and Dave was in on it.  Watch this and you tell me, but just watch it anyway, because it is hilarious TV.  I can't believe all the people who think he was acting weird, distant or serious.  I think he's acting-- period.
