Did you watch ABC World News with Charlie Gibson Monday night? Of course you didn't being a loyal NBC watcher. If you had, you'd have seen a great piece on Dan Ponce's singing group "Straight, No Chaser." If you missed it, watch it here.
Now I've heard they have an upcoming performance on "Today" December 22.
If you'd like a little background on Dan, his tenure at WILX, and his overall superstar status thanks to that YouTube clip-- here's my previous post on this from the summer. (YouTube video is included.)
Dan has a very tough choice. He can follow his musical dreams which he thought were dashed long ago, or go on to what is surely stardom in the TV news ranks of Chicago. I'm sure a big station like the one Dan is at wants a commitment from its talent. It would also be a shame to waste the career move of a lifetime-- jumping from Lansing to Chicago. For Dan, I hope two things-- he's able to do both and have success at both, and he wakes the hell up and comes up with free tickets for his friends. Dude!
