Is it a) How long I can hold my breath, b) Title of my new self-help seminar, or c) Point in a newscast when Staudt starts itching to go home.

None of the above.  It was actually my 5K time from Saturday's Max's race that my co-anchor Mary Decker* Uchida talked me into running.

Reasons to be encouraged:

I shaved more than 3 minutes off my first 5K time.

I never had to stop during the race.

Reasons to be discouraged:

Adela still beat me by 3 minutes.

When I texted my time to my buddy Ryan, who was a runner in high school for Grand Ledge, he texted back: "Not bad... maybe 1 day you can get my all-time best 14:49"  Nice.

*Joke provided by Jim Comparoni of SpartanMag.com who was at the race Saturday.
