Watching Al Gore go out on a limb and endorse Barack Obama in such hostile Democrat country as Michigan, makes me want to take the same leap.
I hereby endorse... oxygen. I think it's a great element we should all embrace this November. For all the naysayers out there who want to take an alarmists' position with the "If you get too much, you may hyperventilate" argument, I say, "Where would you be without it?" Oxygen can unite us as a country. Oxygen will get us through this gasoline crisis. Oxygen can fight stagflation. And oxygen will not pander to special interests. I've known oxygen since I was a boy and I can firmly say without hesitation -- I believe oxygen is vital for life -- I really do. So join me in saving America... and breathe deeply.
Al Gore endorses Barack Obama? Now? C'mon, Green Lantern, why didn't you make that choice when your old buddy's wife was still in the race and Democrats had a real choice to make? (BTW, 'Green Lantern" not in the superhero sense, but b/c he's environmental and stiff.) If you're like me and wondering why this is news, I really can't tell you. It's newsworthy in Michigan b/c that's where it was, but Gore's endorsement should be the last line of any story on it. The whole thing has me wondering what kind of president Gore would have made if the recount broke his way. I have a sneaking suspicion he would have asked for poll numbers and focus group results at the outset of every day.
