"Oh, What a Night! " I never liked that song, but I loved that they played it at the Joe after the Wings won their last two Cups. Back in my DJ days I was working at Sammy's when they clinched on a Friday in 1998 and played it myself. But as we all know, the song never played last night-- or should I say this morning. Where to start... how about with the fact that because of the game we didn't go on and do the news until late. I think we finished at 1:23 a.m.. Leading up to it of course, we're living and dying with every second of the game. By the time I got on set, I was wrecked. It was so late, Darrin Rockcole was in to start preparing for the morning show before we were off the air.
In a previous post I said Ben Holden would be working Game 5 for ESPN's overseas broadcast. He reports things went fantastic. The silver lining of a Game 7 is Benno gets to work one more game. I don't know if that will happen but I do know there's a whole station pulling for him.
Bring on Wednesday. Hopefully we'll be singing "The Four Seasons" then.
