I usually think the pop culture references I interject into the newscast are pretty well-known. But the other night we littered one throughout the 11 that my producer and I are big fans of.
The story was a thief who tried holding up a muffler shop on Monday morning. Not only that, when they told them there was no money yet, he left his cell number and told the employees to call him when the boss showed up with the money.
Yeah. Let the dumb criminal jokes begin. Well, a running joke between said producer and me is "Crime, boy I don't know" which was made famous in an episode of the "West Wing." Anyway, another producer came in the next day and said she liked it, but didn't get the line. So, in case other people out there are like her-- here you go:
