Station of the Year... Now that's good puddin'

That clicking sound you heard Tuesday night was the promo being cut a whole 10 seconds after News 10 was announced the big winner at the MAB's.

I don't want to be that guy who says, "as we first told you..." or "we were first on the scene..." or "we're number oooone."

But, after a big night for the station at the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Awards banquet, I've got to give some shoutouts.  Reporter Lauren Zakalik-- two Best Awards for her work on the Bath School Bombing and breaking news after the Williamston Tornado.  Beth Shayne, who has become one of the best reporters I've ever seen in Lansing, a Merit Award for News Reporter.  Brian Hirten (pictured with Beth and Lauren) had his photojournalist work recognized as the best in Market 3 (which is pretty much Lansing stations and Northern Michigan stations like 9 & 10 news).  We swept the weather category with Andy Pro winning for best weathercast and Darrin Rockcole a merit award.  We also won for community service and a weather promo.  It all added up to a "Station of the Year" distinction.  News 10 rocks!

OK, maybe I am that guy.  But hey, at least I can admit I had absolutely nothing to do with any of these awards.  Not sure if that factored in with the judges.

I would like to see a star on Ingham County when weather alerts are giving. It is hard for me to locate my county before the map is gone. If the star was there, it would be easy to see what counties are being shown. Thanks

Did you know that refuses to allow the troops that are serving our country in Iraq the freedom to shop and order online from their web site? These kids (and my daughter is one of them) have been denied access to the site. WalMart lets them shop on their site. I wish this could be exposed so people will know that Meijer does not support our troops. These kids put their lives on the line for us. They should be treated better. I don't know if I wrote to the right place but thought you would like to know that there is a serious injustice being done to our troops. Thank you for your time

I have to agree with you on Beth Shayne, she's the best reporter in Lansing by far. Congratulations to everyone on the awards they were well deserved; y'all are lucky to have both Beth and Lauren.
