Fall Colors Slow Start
Usually by mid-September the fall colors start popping in the Upper Peninsula. This year was a very dry year and with the warmer temperatures the color change is about 10 days to two weeks behind. This weekend the color is about 15 to 20 percent in the west end of the U.P.. The colors may not be as spectacular due to the drought. We can expect the change to happen quickly across the state once it gets going later this month. Traditional we don't see our change reach it's peak until mid to late October.
