Summer weekends for sports coverage are not like the fall-- what season ever is? Friday night high school football is an incredible challenge to cover and assemble in a timely professional fashion in a couple of hours prep time. Saturday morning there is the MSU tailgate show-- not much time to recover once you get home-- and that's where the house is full of guests for the week end. This is also MSU Marching Band Concert weekend-- and we hit a bee hive in set up Friday and that required some quick calls to bee specialists. That problem now solved.
Then guests for the MSU game and a little time to relax at home before Michigan plays Notre Dame. More guests at the house. Then 6am Sunday into the office for the taping of the first Sunday Staudt on Sports on WILX TV which airs for 37 Sundays at 11am for an hour-- same as usual.
Then back home for the quick final touches for the concert-- biggest yet, plenty of volunteers, probably 800 on the property and good weather expected. It will be tiring but great fund and a letdown when it's all over. And then a new week begins with new challenges-- throughout the fall.
