It's impressive that Michigan State has had a first team Associated Press All American for four straight years. Javon Ringer, two years with Greg Jones and Wednesday, defensive tackle Jerel Worthy made the top list. In my mind this is the highest honor of the All American teams.
Worthy is a junior from Huber Heights, Ohio and most around him believe he will leave for the NFL draft in April and give up his senior year. With him back, MSU would have book end defensive pass rushers in Worthy and Will Gholston. Without him, MSU still has eight defensive starters returning. I think Worthy might be the best in the NFL from the other two-- Ringer and Jones, though both of them are on NFL rosters.
Worthy will be a formidable force that Georgia's offense will have to block in the Outback Bowl game. But if he does leave MSU will have a gaping hole to fill next fall. But Worthy's improvement and presence clearly were significant factors in MSU posting a 21-5 record these two years combined.
