Will Tigers Leave First Place This Season?

It took the first 24 games before the Detroit Tigers finally ascended to first place in the American League's Central Division race.  The Tigers are 14-10 heading into a Tuesday night game against the Minnesota Twins.  Two more games in this series and then it's off to woeful Houston to meet the American League newcomer Astros this weekend.  Only Kansas City looks like a viable threat in the division this season, but you tell me is Kansas City as good as the Tigers?  In terms of personnel not even close.  And if Jose Valverde returns to his original form as the team's closer the Tigers will be tough to knock out in the post season in my estimation.

And not all of the Tigers hitters have got it going yet either with the cold weather that has dominated the spring.  But 14-10 isn't bad and all the West Coast road games are now complete too.  Go Tigers!
