It looks like a wild final week in men's Big Ten basketball. While the women's conference tournament takes place in Indianapolis with no clear cut favorite, three teams will battle it out down the wire for the men's regular season title.
Someone has to beat Michigan State to make it a possibility for Ohio State and Michigan, but the Spartans have to play at Indiana on Tuesday and finish next Sunday against Ohio State. The Buckeyes also have a home game with Wisconsin, but who knows what the Badgers will be like after losing at Iowa Thursday. Assuming Michigan wins its senior night game against Purdue on Saturday, the Wolverines must win out, one would think in road games at Illinois and Penn State. I doubt any of these games will be easy except for Michigan State's home game Saturday night against Nebraska.
Maybe it would be fitting that the race end in a tie-- although I think Michigan State is the best team and Ohio State has the best individual players, but not by much over the Spartans. Ohio State and Michigan don't have much in common but they both must be furious with Minnesota for the way the Gophers let Wednesday's game slip away and enable the Spartans to maintain their current one game lead.
