Michigan State's women were rewarded for winning the Big Ten title with a fourth seed in the NCAA tournament-- and tournament champion Ohio State is a fourth seed-- best the league's women's teams could do. I disagree that MSU got a great draw. They travel to Wichita, Kansas and while that's not a home court for someone the two opening games against Northern Iowa and likely Green Bay are against two top level mid major teams. Should MSU beat both? Yes, if the Spartans are playing well, an upset loss if they don't. Their two foes will be highly motivated for an upset against a team I think has struggled a bit down the stretch and now hasn't played in two weeks.
The men are a tenth seed and maybe Tom Izzo's Spartans will get knocked out Thursday night, or maybe they won't. Hard to tell how the men will play (like against Purdue or Penn State last week)? You tell me, I don't know. I don't have a clue and maybe they don't either. But it seems like if they play well they can match up with every team going through the Southeast Regional. I think the men may have a better bracket than the women, but it comes down to who goes the farthest and that's the bottom line.
