I'm looking at video today (Monday) of Ohio State's deposed football coach Jim Tressel. He has not spoken publicly since stepping down on Memorial Day as the Buckeyes' football coach. Saturday night at his beautiful Upper Arlington home several hundred fans showed up to support him at an impromptu pep rally. It lasted 25 minutes, and the media was kept away for the most part, but you could see enough in the way of the proceedings to see that a good time was had by all. I was struck by Tressel's calm demeanor. He didn't look stressed and in fact he looked pretty relaxed and good. He thanked everyone involved, with his wife Ellen in the front yard with him. Ohio State has not yet made interim coach Luke Fickell available to the media about his status replacing Tressel. Whether Tressel comments publicly in the future or not remains to be seen. Who knows where the Ohio State story goes next, but there doesn't seem to be an end in sight with the media looking to dig up whatever is still out there to report.
