I really do think the Detroit Lions can win 11 games this fall-- IF and that's a big IF-- Matt Stafford plays all 16 games relatively healthy. He's played 13 of 32 games in two years. He was razor sharp in the pre season and it's indicative of why the Lions made him a number one draft pick and signed him to a long term $72 million deal. But if he's out the Lions aren't nearly as good-- I think.
The Lions are one point underdogs at Tampa Bay and I really don't know why. They won their last fall without Stafford and Tampa Bay better be a whole lot better defensively in this match up or the Lions will win. And the Lions defensive front isn't completely done yet without the injured rookie Nick Fairley but when he's up and going and healthy, I just think this team's time has come-- it has enough good players in an average division. Green Bay looked good offensively in its opener but the Packers' defense was no problem for Drew Brees and my sense is when they meet twice, if Stafford is around, the games will be close. Stay tuned it all begins on Sunday at 1pm.
