What a sports week next week-- the Tigers in the ALCS and Michigan State and Michigan preparing to meet each other a week from Saturday in Ann Arbor. Without the Tigers in the playoffs the entire week would be focused on the game in Ann Arbor... and that's still a big deal-- both teams want to go to the Rose Bowl and the winner stays alive for the most part. But the Tigers are a big deal statewide and fun to watch for many people. And they'll be playing a series to get to the World Series-- all a developing story.
The high schools have their final football games of the regular season next week and college hockey season gets into full swing. Some of the high school fall teams play state tournament competition. Winter is coming. But sports fans will have a red hot week-- and just think nothing going on in Hockeytown on the ice. The Lions are gone next week again-- preparing for a Monday night game at Chicago after Sunday's game at Philadelphia. With two more losses they'll be little more than an afterthought perhaps for the remainder of the season.
