There's so much rhetoric at all of these college football conference media days. The Big Ten is wrapping up Friday in Chicago.
From what I've heard:
Give Mark Dantonio a break. He's not going to throw Jim Tressel of Ohio State under the bus, simple as that. Dantonio was misinterpreted in my mind. The MSU coach said in his mind and that's the key, his mind, Tressel was a tragic hero. That drew criticism, understandably and Dantonio expected it. But Tressel is a longtime friend, who gave him two jobs dating back to 1983. Loyalty and friendship trump what the media thinks.
Brady Hoke made great comments to Michigan fans, arrogant to everyone else. Of course he is going to make Michigan sound like the greatest school and team in the world. That's what they all want to hear. If you don't like Michigan, well then he'll sound arrogant to you. But he knows what the fan base thrives on hearing.
Best comment from Wisconsin's Bret Bielema, too bad the cheaters aren't the ones who get it because in his world he wishes the recruiting cheaters were the ones who lost jobs immediately, or words to that effect.
