Yes the Tigers and Lions are playing this week and they're both prominent, but Michigan and Michigan State week is so big especially in the town that hosts the game-- in this case Michigan State. The Spartans of course hope to extend their three game winning streak in the rivalry and around here everyone thinks they will win. They are a three point favorite, but the locals would have you believe they'll win by more than that.
Michigan is somewhat of an unknown in my book because I don't know how Brady Hoke's team will perform in such an atmosphere. Michigan had a huge crowd last Saturday at Northwestern and that game just doesn't have the impact this one does. Michigan State hasn't played in two weeks and the Spartans really struggled on offense when we last saw them-- in fact they've struggled on offense in the only two decent games they've played-- Notre Dame and Ohio State. They have a mere touchdown in each game-- hardly impressive. But I think Michigan State is the bona fide favorite if only for the home field advantage-- and it could be great this Saturday. I give Michigan a chance because of the resolve to end that three game losing streak. We'll see.
