Michigan State doesn't need all of its offensive linemen to beat Central Michigan. This is not the CMU team of quarterback Dan LeFevour's tenure. He's gone and CMU's glittering records left with him. CMU won't beat Michigan State this Sasturday. The Spartans are mad losing at Notre Dame and Mark Dantonio has challenged them all to play tougher this week, which they'll probably do and CMU just doesn't have enough talent. This for all the world looks like a 38-7 MSU win.
But then it's on to Columbus for the Big Ten opener on October 1st. What will Ohio State be like? I think MSU can win there but not with too many injuries and three offensive linemen are down from a unit which was shaky with inexperience in the first place. MSU needs to score points in Columbus and good line play will be paramount. I think Ohio State is flawed, especially on offense, so this is a game MSU could win. If the injuries mount up Saturday against CMU that makes the job a lot tougher. MSU didn't have many key injuries last year en route to 11 wins and I'm just wondering if that luck will turn this fall simply on the law of averages...or not.
