Well they all didn't stay. But that was expected. At least four Penn State players are moving on-- to USC, Cal, North Carolina State and LSU. At least they're big time programs anyway. The big name is running back Silas Redd and he's off to USC for two years and who knows if he'll run for the 1,400 yards he gained last season as a sophomore on Penn State's 9-4 team. I don't know that Penn State's record will be a disaster this fall-- enough good players remain and it appears to me that there are enough winnable games.
It's obviously crucial that new head coach Bill O'Brien find enough quality recruits and they'll be stepping in and playing as true freshmen before much longer. I see George Mitchell has been hired to oversee how Penn State does business and to make sure the school plays by the rules. My guess is he won't have much to do. Penn State is so beaten up by this whole Sandusky episode it just doesn't have any energy to cheat at this point.
