Ohio State and Michigan State probably have the best football team sin the Big Ten-- at least after one game. But either would have lost to Alabama too. So Michigan has a chance to improve and compete in the conference.
OSU and MSU could have a Big Ten title game if the Buckeyes were eligible. They meet in East Lansing September 29th and that should be quite a start to the Big Ten season. The Spartans are like everyone else-- they have a ways to go and that's to be expected. They'll cream Central Michigan this Saturday setting up a big showdown with Notre Dame the following week.
Michigan will be 2-1 after home wins over Air Force and U Mass and then the Wolverines play a night game at Notre Dame. Ohio State looked good but the Buckeyes played Miami of Ohio-- not so good.
Wisconsin, Minnesota and especially Iowa-- wins, but shaky in many cases. I was surprised by Penn State-- thought the Nittanys would win at home over Ohio-- long year at Penn State gets longer. Can't tell about Purdue and Illinois. Won, but against weak teams. Northwestern can score and give up plenty of points. Nebraska is promising but can Nebraska win this Saturday at UCLA? A litmus test.
