When I grew up major league pitching staffs consisted of four starters. But for years the number has been five. And name me five better starters than the Detroit Tigers have regularly featured this year and they have missed their turns very few times. As this is written, the Cleveland Indians had won ten straight games entering their series with the Tigers but they couldn't beat Annibal Sanchez and Justin Verlander. Good luck because they get Doug Fister Wednesday night and Max Scherzer on Thursday night. And does anyone have a better fifth starter than Rick Porcello?
