MSU Women's Injuries Are a Mystery

So just what happens at these MSU women's basketball practices?  Make it seven ACL tears in seven seasons with Madison Williams suffering her third in three years during practice on Tuesday.  The redshirt sophomore was a McDonald's all american from Detroit Country Day but she has played three games as a Spartan.

Starting guard Aerial Powers went down in practice last Friday with the same injury and she is gone for the season too.  MSU is not ranked anywhere in the pre season polls and with two key players gone it doesn't look promising this winter right?

You wonder about Williams future in the sport.  Why is another ACL fix going to lead to a career with three more healthy seasons?  It will be a question to be answered after she rehabs in the next 4-6 months.  Surgery is upcoming.  It's a toughie for the Spartans to be sure and MSU coach Suzy Merchant has to be incredibly frustrated and who can blame her?
