If any of them were good enough he'd beat the others out is my assessment of MSU's quarterback circus, which may last the entire season. Now Connor Cook gets reps with the number one team in practice this week but that doesn't mean he will start Saturday against Youngstown State. Freshman Damion Terry is next and who knows the future of senior Andrew Maxwell.
If it was me, I'd still play Maxwell over Cook and Tyler O'Connor, but I haven't seen Terry so I don't know where he is relative to being the Spartans' best answer. One way or the other the Spartans better find some production from the position because once these cream puff games end this Saturday, the season begins in earnest at Notre Dame.
I think MSU has many other problems on offense at other positions. But quarterback is the trigger position and it has been a problem and I don't see an end in sight. Good luck to whoever starts at Notre Dame the following Saturday and your guess is as good as mine as to who starts in South Bend.
