MSU Hockey Coach?

All I can tell you is what I hear-- and I hear a lot about MSU's hockey coaching search.  No announcement expected today.  Perhaps any moment though through the end of the week, and that's what many expect.  The hot name is Danton Cole, the former Waverly High School star, who is coach of the U. S. Under 17 team in Ann Arbor at the moment.  He's the former coach at Alabama Huntsville.  He was a very good player at MSU for Ron Mason.  He knows NCAA rules and that's a big deal to the MSU hierarchy.

Do I know for a fact he's the guy?  No, but he's the name I hear.  He'd save MSU some money in the early going.  It will be denied that's a factor if he's hired, but one would be naive to think it isn't a consideration seeing as MSU is paying off Rick Comley approximately $500,000 to retire.

I doubt this goes much longer.  MSU wants a coach ASAP.  There's a need to go find players for next season and restore the ones on board and anxious.  If I was betting at the moment, I'd bet on Cole from what I've heard.
