Of all the MSU teams in action this weekend, one of them is just starting its schedule-- baseball. And it's baseball weather in Greenville, South Carolina these days-- 62 and sunny expected on Friday. The Spartans worked out in Greenville Thursday afternoon. They face Furman at 5pm Friday. They also play Miami of Ohio and a non league game against Northwestern Sunday before returning home.
MSU is picked third in the Big Ten pre season polls and the Spartans will unveil freshman pitcher Justin Alleman of Holt who is likely to be the team's closer this spring. Indiana and Nebraska are picked 1-2 in pre season polls. The Spartans don't play their home opener until March 26th.
The Big Ten Network announced Thursday at least two MSU games this coming season will be televised live including the April 11th Crosstown Showdown at Cooley Law School Stadium against the Lansing Lugnuts.
