MSU Baseball Gets Little Respect

Man the Big Ten baseball teams get no national respect.  The national polls are out today, no Big Ten teams in the top 30 even though Michigan State is 30-14 (three losses behind second place Oregon State).  The Spartans just swept co-leader Purdue over the weekend.  So, how many Big Ten teams make the NCAA tournament field later this month?  It's a 64-team field and the Big Ten playoff champ gets in automatically, but after that some believe no other Big Ten team will be selected.

It's been like this for some time and Michigan is usually good but Michigan stinks this spring. Last place in the Big Ten and 15-31 overall heading into a two game home series this week with Texas Tech.  Ohio State is just average and I think all that has helped the Spartans.  I see them winning five out of six remaining league games, three at Indiana and three at home against Northwestern, next week.  They'll win the league title by two or three games but whether they win the playoff in Columbus the following week, and advance to their first NCAA tournament since 1979, remains to be seen.
