The Lansing Lugnuts, over their 18 years, have now placed 92 players in major league baseball. The latest announced Friday is Sean Nolin. He's a starting pitcher called up by the Toronto Blue Jays to make his major league debut Friday night against Baltimore. Nolin pitched for the Lugnuts in 2011 and the first former Lugnut to play in the majors this year. I guess the guy I remember the most is Carlos Zambrano who pitched for the Lugnuts in 1999 and went on to the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs were once the Lugnuts' parent club. Wonder how many fans remember Zambrano, who later would return to Lansing and visit, let alone Nolin.
