Okay, let's see what's coming up in the sports world here around the corner. Today is Friday:
On Sunday, Michigan State begins football practice. The Tigers are at Kansas City for one final game before heading to Cleveland for three more and then on to Baltimore. I'm going to the game in Baltimore a week from Saturday-- I like one game a year in the stands at a different major league park. Oh and did Tiger Woods play his way back into the final round of the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio? Or did he fall back?
Monday, high school football practices begin around the state. The first games are three weeks from tonight. Other high school teams can begin practices officially next Wednesday. Dan Olsen will be in Atlanta on Saturday-- to begin preparing to play in the PGA championship. That begins Thursday at the Atlanta Athletic Club. The Walnut Hills assistant pro just finished tenth at the Boyne Tournament of Champions.
The Detroit Lions face the Cincinnati Bengals in their first game next Friday. So it's a busy week ahead. And who knows what else is out there next week that we don't know about-- who would have thought Bubba Smith made the news last week? You know what I mean and that's the sports world for you.
