Lions Face Rugged Road

So much for the Detroit Lions' improvement from last season. The Lions can't lose this week-- they don't play. But the next two games are at Philadelphia and a Monday nighter at Chicago. Those look like potential losses to be sure-- and that would drop the Lions to 1-5. They are 1-3 and their opening win against St. Louis was hardly impressive.

They just aren't that good and their special teams are truly that-- special-- specially bad. They are ranked 17th of the 32 NFL teams this week by USA Today. And down the road the Lions have some rugged matchups. We went through the schedule today and saw something like a 5-11 or 6-10 season and that's assuming that no major guys get hurt-- and that always happens.

So much for momentum from last year's playoff run. Yes they could turn it around-- but we sure haven't seen much evidence to offer up hope with that schedule looming in the near future.
