Wow! Two times in two weeks-- invited to speak to Michigan State journalism classes and Wednesday it was an hour and 20 minutes before 100 students of all classes who are enrolled in a sports media session that meets twice a week. It was fun and I gave them my very best pep talk about an uncertain future in an ever changing industry.
You feel for those kids-- working hard, headed into debt because of college expenses, etc. No guarantees for jobs in the field they want to pursue. But some will make it and others will look to something else and several e mailed me afterward looking for internships and good for them. Hope we can help. Interns from MSU have been great in both TV and radio over the years. I'd have a tough time teaching because I'd want to give all A's and what teacher can do that?
