My thoughts on men's Big Ten basketball haven't changed since the start of the season way back in November. It's still Ohio State and Michigan State in that order-- the only two with a chance to make the Final Four. All the others can get in the NCAA tournament and that's fine-- but they're all going out before the Final Four assemble in New Orleans.
The Buckeyes and Spartans of course must stay healthy. If they don't then the Final Four becomes a longer shot but the Big Ten title I still believe will end up with one of these two-- they meet twice yet this season beginning at 6pm Saturday in Columbus. It would sure help the Spartans to spring the mild upset if only because they are a game back in the loss column.
The national race is wide open but I'm starting to focus in on Kentucky, Syracuse, Kansas and maybe Missouri as the top four to beat. North Carolina, Ohio State and Michigan State are in the mix and maybe a couple of others, but those are the teams to me that look like the best bets for the Final Four at this point, still five weeks away from the tournament.
