Sunday marks the 10th anniversary of the MSU Marching Band for Kids Concert at our home that benefits the band and the Sparrow Foundation. It's our biggest yet-- and it appears we'll get another break with the weather. We never knew where this event was headed in 2003 but this is our biggest year yet and the same sponsors who make it happen were with us from the start. And it just keeps growing every year.
I worry every year about the weather-- we were only postponed for a week one time-- but great weather makes for a great day and the Spartan band puts on a great patriotic show. It is touching that so many noteworthy MSU coaches and President Lou Anna Simon come and speak to the band and the crowd. It's a letdown when it ends even though so much work goes into it. I hope it never ends because it is so unique.
