Observations from the weekend:
Why would the Michigan vs. Arizona State softball game be played so that it ended at 3:30am on Sunday? They'd have been okay had rain wiped it out and pushed everything back. Not fair to either team let alone fans who paid to attend. Makes no sense to play in the middle of the night.
The Pinestripe Bowl is fine with the Big Ten heading to New York-- let's see how many fans actually sit in that weather outdoors in late December to watch football. It's an eight year deal which would work if the game was played indoors-- no indoor stadiums in the area.
Jim Leyland takes the blame for Sunday's loss at Baltimore. If the Tigers had blown a 2-0 lead with a reliever he would have taken more heat from fans who says he always pulls pitchers too early. That made no sense to me. Any one can guess right when the game is over.
Indiana advances in NCAA baseball tournament. Hoosiers are two wins away, at Florida State, from being first Big Ten team in College World Series since Michigan in 1984. Tough test ahead though against the Seminoles.
