Isolated Incident Or Something Deeper?

Tom Izzo often says he earns every penny of his salary and for Wednesday's game at Penn State, an otherwise normal trip may have new issues for which he must handle as head coach of the MSU Spartans.  Two players got into an altercation on the second floor of the Nittany Lion Inn Wednesday morning before the team shootaround and it rose to the extent that police were called.

No arrests made and no announcements from MSU.  Whether Izzo sits any players or not remains to be seen but I've felt all season long this team's leadership would fall short of Draymond Green-- mainly because Green and Mateen Cleaves and guys of the like were that significant.  This team does not appear to have such leadership.

Whether this is a one time deal like football players fighting at practice which happens all the time remains to be seen.  You can be sure Izzo isn't happy about it all and the Spartans have the toughest part of their schedule immediately ahead beginning Saturday night with a 6pm home game against Ohio State.
