I Don't Like the Big Ten Tourney

If Michigan State beats Ohio State Sunday what's the point in playing the Big Ten Tournament the following week in Indianapolis?  As regular season champ MSU will have already earned a title in its league.  More icing on the cake will be difficult to find having to play three games in three days.  Players might get injured or worn down with the NCAA tournament coming up the following week.

The games are often played with thousands of empty seats in the arena in Indianapolis and everyone goes home a loser except the team that survives on Sunday.  And that team gets 10 minutes of glory before the CBS NCAA tournament selection show dominates the news the next day.  I'd rather see a full round robin Big Ten schedule-- fair for everyone and MSU likely would have won four more games this season-- Northwestern and Illinois at home and Iowa and Penn State on the road.  Who knows how long the tournament may last-- for now there does not appear to be an end in sight.  If MSU loses to the Buckeyes Sunday then they can all argue who's the champ at the tournament the following week if one of the regular season titleists manages to survive to win on Sunday before the selection show.
